Incarnational Ministries

We want to follow the example of Christ by working alongside, living with, and serving those in the community.  We believe that the way we live our life on a daily basis is a powerful testimony to those we wish to minister to.  By doing this we attempt to create a community of believers as is described throughout the Bible.

Wholistic Ministries  

• Acts 4:32-35, James 2:14-19

Our ministries are designed to meet the needs of the whole person, not just their needs spiritually.  We will attempt to address the spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs of the people in the community over time.

Caring for & Ministering Among the Poor 

• Mark 9:35, Matthew 19:21, Jeremiah 22:16, Proverbs 19:17, Psalm 82:3, Exodus 23:11

Scripture clearly places God on the side of the poor. Christ demonstrated great concern for the poor, as He spent much of His time ministering to the poor, oppressed, fatherless, widowed, and those in need.  As a church, and as followers of Christ, we are called to be servants of all.

Development of Leadership 

• 1 Timothy 4:14, Acts 14:21a-23, Deuteronomy 4:4-7

We are committed to training people up from within the community to take leadership positions in the church and in the community.  This means discipling new believers and intentionally investing into the lives of the community youth so that they become the church leaders of tomorrow.

Reconciliation 

• 1 Peter 4:8, Colossians 3:12-14, 18:15; Matthew 6:14-15, Matthew 5:23-24, Colossians 3:11, Ephesians 2:11-18

We want to bridge the gap between God and people and between people of different racial and ethnic groups, and socio-economic backgrounds.  This includes bridging the gap between urban and suburban churches.

Church Planting

We believe in planting churches that also desire to plant other churches, which would continue to spread the gospel and make disciples for Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

About the Triune God

We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious (substitutionary) and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all humankind and to receive His people to Himself.

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the third member of the divine Trinity who indwells God’s people.  He draws people to Christ, enables them to believe on Jesus, and strengthens them to live godly lives.  We believe in the present day manifestations of all the gifts of the Spirit as taught in Scripture and under the full control and order of the Spirit.

About Humankind

We believe that all of humanity was born into sin and therefore all are totally unable to save themselves from God’s wrath, except by His mercy.

We believe that there is no salvation for anyone apart from faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that salvation is by God alone as He Sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.

We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ as we follow Him in personal and often costly discipleship.

We believe that the church is a fellowship of born-again persons, committed to helping one another grow in their Christian lives.

We believe that marriage is an institution created by God. It is a covenant relationship established by mutual vows between a man and a woman united by God.

We believe in the importance of Christians reaching into all the world to call people to faith in Christ and helping influence their world, both near and farther away, for good.
